Direct flights between Vientiane, Laos to Phnom Penh will start on March 19

Vientiane, Laos: To boost tourism in the region, Lao Airlines announced the resumption of direct flights between Vientiane, Laos, and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, starting March 19, 2024.

The new route will offer convenient travel options with three flights operating weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The flight duration is a quick 1 hour and 20 minutes, utilizing A320 aircraft for passenger comfort. Flights will depart Vientiane's Wattay International Airport at 8:30 AM, arriving in Phnom Penh at 9:50 AM. The return flight will depart Phnom Penh at 10:50 AM, returning to Vientiane by 12:10 PM.

"We're excited to re-establish this direct connection between Laos and Cambodia," said Mr. Khamla Phommavanh, President of Lao Airlines. "With the global travel industry rebounding, particularly air travel, this route will cater to the growing demand for tourism, which heavily relies on air transportation as the preferred mode of travel."

Mr. Phommavanh further noted the increasing demand for air travel between Laos and Cambodia since the COVID-19 pandemic subsided in mid-2023. The addition of this route reflects Lao Airlines' commitment to expanding its network and meeting the evolving travel needs of the region. The airline has expressed plans to add more frequencies if passenger demand continues to climb.
